Programme Summary

CTSCB will take advantage of EPSC’s totipotency features and unique properties to develop novel animal cloning technologies and to map cell lineage atlas from human EPSCs to cell types relevant to regenerative medicine and immunotherapies. EPSCs have totipotency features that standard mouse or human ESCs generally lack. The current human pluripotent stem cell in vitro differentiation protocols are primarily based on the assumption that embryo and cell lineage development in the mouse and human uses similar signals and follows similar trajectories. The new human cell lineage knowledge will directly inform the development of optimised protocols for efficient generation of specific cell types from human EPSCs.
